The second year of Ada in Porlock’s (AiP) sponsorship of Moorland Federation’s annual science competition and event was another wonderful success.

Volunteers from AiP were joined by scientists from Singer Instruments to talk to the the winners from all of the individual schools and award the prizes for the best entries across the Federation.

As ever, the judges were overwhelmed by the quality of the entries and the knowledge and enthusiasm shown by the pupils, making the final selection a matter of difficult debate. All contestants were rewarded with a fabulous workshop on “Forensic Science” followed by a slap-up celebratory dinner hosted by Dunster First School.

Congratulations to all entrants and our thanks to the wonderful teachers across the Federation who make these events possible and the support of Singer Instruments for providing local, outstanding exemplars of scientists in our community for the pupils to see and hear from.
